Mark Allin – New Collection – Circles

March 26th, 2010

Here is taster of my new collection which will be available very soon. The new collection is titled ‘Circles’ and will be available as signed limited edition screen-prints.

I’ve always loved graphic shapes and they come no more graphic than the simple circle. After experimenting with half-tones, I felt they were just too mechanical. I was after something more random. Eventually settling on hand placing every single circle, and then over-lapping the different colours to create some interesting overprinting. I really like the negative shapes it creates between the large and small circles.

Each print is a hand pulled screen-print, using matte and metallic inks, which sets off these prints perfectly.

The series will cover iconic imagery from the 70’s 80’s and 90’s. The examples here are Michael Jackson, Michael Caine, Marilyn Monroe & Dirty Harry.

If you want to be one fo the first to get your hands on the prints, please email me here and I’ll reserve one for you.
